Patton named RMAC Womens Academic Runner of the Year; 12 total student-athletes earn Academic All-RMAC honors

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of
Mines’ Marie Patton has been named the Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Academic Runner of
the Year, as announced today by the RMAC. A total of 12 CSM
student-athletes earned Academic All-RMAC honors. Along with
Patton, Sydney Laws and Aaron Swift both were named to the First
Team.
To qualify for Academic All-RMAC recognition, student-athletes
must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, must be a starter or reserve,
and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their
current institution.
Patton, a sophomore from Littleton, Colo. (Heritage H.S.), has a
4.0 cumulative grade point average as an engineering physics major.
At the RMAC Championships, Patton placed 18th and earned Third Team
All-RMAC honors. Patton placed 16th at the NCAA Division II Central
Region Championships.
