No. 16 Diggers Push Win Streak To Five With 3-0 Win Over CSC

CHADRON, Neb. – The No. 16 Colorado School of Mines volleyball squad posted 12 blocks en route to a 3-0 win over Chadron State on Saturday evening at Armstrong Gymnasium in Chadron, Neb.

Mines (11-4, 5-1 RMAC) was limited to just a .186 attack percentage, but held the Eagles (3-12, 1-5 RMAC) to just a .095 attack percentage in capturing its second-straight sweep.

The Orediggers took their fifth-straight triumph behind game scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-19.

Reigning RMAC Defensive Player of the Week Melanie Wannamaker paced the offense in the match with 13 kills on a .385 attack percentage while adding three blocks and two digs defensively.

Sarah Pekarek and Holly Hutchison added eight kills apiece with Pakarek adding 12 digs and Hutchison adding six digs and four blocks in the matchup.

Freshman Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood finished with 38 assists, nine digs and three kills to close out her first week as the RMAC Setter of the Week.

Junior Hannah Margheim led the back line with 16 digs, while Corrine Din added eight in the Orediggers' seventh straight-set win of the season.

The squad will return home to face CSU-Pueblo in a 7 p.m. match at Lockridge Arena on Thursday to open up a three-match homestand.
