No. 21 Mines Falls To ACU, 3-1

DENVER – The No. 21 Colorado School of Mines volleyball squad suffered its first loss of the season by a 3-1 score to Abilene Christian on Friday afternoon at the Regis Fieldhouse in Denver as part of the Colorado Premier tournament.

Mines (4-1) fell by game scores of 26-24, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-21.

Abilene Christian (3-3) was able to out-hit the Orediggers by a .236 to .203 margin in the contest despite nine blocks by the CSM frontline defense. 

Jackie Stabell led the squad with 19 kills on a .317 attack percentage while also adding two assists, an ace and two block assists in the contest. 

Anna Padget-Shields added 11 kills and two digs while Melanie Wannamaker contributed 12 kills and three block assists.
