No. 25 Diggers Rebound For Victory Over Dallas Baptist, 3-1
GOLDEN – Despite losing the first game of the match, the No. 25 Colorado School of Mines volleyball team rebounded to post three consecutive wins to top Dallas Baptist by a 3-1 final on Saturday at Lockridge Arena in Golden.
Mines (3-0) posted a meager .176 attack percentage in the first frame, but rebounded to hit .520, .263 and .293 in keeping unbeaten on the season.
Offensively, Jackie Stabell notched 14 kills on a .229 attack percentage while adding four digs and a block assist, while fellow senior Holly Hutchison added 13 kills on a .344 attack percentage.
Laura Beckmann added 11 kills of her own on an eye-popping .647 attack percentage and Melanie Wannamaker matched Beckmann with 11 kills on a .375 hitting percentage.
Freshman setter Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood posted her second-straight match with 40 or more assists with 44 on Saturday while also leading the team with 14 digs. Hannah Margheim added 13 digs of her own and Alese Madenwald contributed 10 to the back line defensive effort.
