CSM defeats Fort Lewis, 3-1, during opening day competition at Holiday Inn Denver West Village Oredigger Volleyball Classic
GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines defeated Fort Lewis College in four sets (18-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-22) on Thursday evening, August 27th, at Lockridge Arena during opening-day competition at the 2009 Holiday Inn Denver West Village Oredigger Volleyball Classic. For the box score, click here.
Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (five block assists, 11 digs) posted a .333 hitting percentage and registered a match-best 20 kills as the Orediggers improved to 1-0 on the season. Emily Collett handed out 42 assists, Tara Schwein had seven block assists, Kaity Edmiston (.351 at the net, four block assists) finished with 17 kills and Kirstie Bunting had a team-high 15 digs.
Taylor Hilberry (.444 at the net) and Jessica Wilson recorded 10 kills apiece for the Skyhawks (0-1) while Katherine Sumrall led all players with 24 digs.
