GOLDEN – The Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team pushed its winning streak to three matches with a 3-0 win over visiting Washburn on Saturday at the CSM Soccer Stadium in Golden.
Mines (3-1-0) held the Lady Blues (0-4-0) without a shot during the match and have now posted a 95-4 shots advantage over the three-match stretch, including a 58-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The Orediggers got on the board in the 12th minute on a goal by Anna Evans (her fourth in the last two matches) after she accepted a beautiful entry pass from Megan Woodworth and knocked it in to give Mines a 1-0 lead.
Dani Hering posted her fourth goal of the season when she ripped a shot from 30 yards out and had it bounce off the cross bar with the right angle to cross the goal line, putting Mines up 2-0 in the 30th minute.
Hering added her fifth goal of the season with just 28 seconds remaining when she knocked in a short Jordan Partin pass in the bottom left corner to bring the score to its final at 3-0.
The Orediggers will open up the conference portion of their schedule on Friday when they travel to face CSU-Pueblo at 7 p.m.
