N.M. Highlands shocks #15 Orediggers, 4-1

LAS VEGAS, N.M. - Coming into today's game the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team had allowed just seven goals all season but N.M. Highlands found a way to score four as Mines trailed for more minutes today than they had all season in the loss.

The Cowgirls took the lead after they were awarded a penalty kick for a handball in the box in the 42nd minute but Mines was still within striking distance trailing just 1-0 at the break.

But very quickly that all changed as N.M. Highlands scored goals in the 55th and 57th minutes both by Julissa Rodriguez and the Orediggers found themselves down 3-0.

Kelsey Neal scored her third goal of the season in the 71st minute a header on the cross from Anna Evans.

The Orediggers (11-2-1, 7-2-1 RMAC) will play at UC-Colorado Springs on Friday, Oct. 21st at 7:30 pm. Mines will play its final regular season home match on Sunday, Oct. 23rd against Adams State at 12:00 pm.
