The 21st-ranked Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime tie with #4 Metro State on Friday afternoon at Auraria Field in the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship. Mines advanced to the quarterfinal round winning in a shootout, 4-3.

The Colorado School of Mines’ women’s soccer team had five players named to All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams as voted on by the 11 head women's soccer coaches in the RMAC. Kayla Mitchell was named the 2009 RMAC Player of the Year and was a unanimous First Team selection. Joining Mitchell on the First Team are Briana Schulze and Megan Woodworth. Jessica Stark earned Second Team honors while Kelsey Lang was named to the Third Team.

The Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer team defeated the University of Nebraska-Kearney 9-0 on Friday afternoon at the CSM Soccer Stadium. The team’s nine goals tied the single-game record for goals set back during the program’s inaugural season in 2005. Six different players scored goals for Mines while three players scored two goals each.
