Snider finishes first at Old Chicago Northern Colorado Open

GREELEY, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines wrestling team competed at the Old Chicago Northern Colorado Open on Sunday, November 22nd, at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.

Jesse Snider went 5-0 and won first place in the 149 lb. bracket. Jordan Larsen (5-1, one fall), who was ranked seventh in the 165 lb. weight class in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association 2009-10 Pre-Season Poll, recorded a third-place finish in the 165 lb. bracket while Brandon Sheldon (3-2, one fall) placed fourth in the 184 lb. weight class. Jamie Sheets went 3-3 with three falls to earn sixth place in the 165 lb. bracket.
CSM sent nine other attached wrestlers, including Chad Lousberg (133 lbs.; 1-1 with one fall), Robert Johnson (141 lbs.; 1-2), Zachary Young (141 lbs.; 0-2), Dylan Lewis (141 lbs.; 1-2), Mick Ramsey (149 lbs.; 1-2), Ryan Sprackling (157 lbs.; 2-2), Travis Wokasch (157 lbs.; 0-2), Mike Brown (157 lbs.; 0-2) and Bryan Stansbury (HWT; 2-2 with one fall).
Ten Orediggers competed unattached, as well, including Elias Arias (125 lbs.; 1-2 with one fall), Mitch VeDepo (133 lbs.; 0-2), Mikie Burgess (141 lbs.; 4-2 with one fall), Gabe Martinez (141 lbs.; 0-2), McLain Cowan (149 lbs.; 0-2), Raudel Lucero (157 lbs.; 0-2), Jake Wilson (165 lbs.; 1-2), Josh Brown (174 lbs.; 2-2), Bobby Strain (197 lbs.; 1-2) and Robert Tucker (HWT; 0-2).
The Orediggers will compete at the Fort Hays State University Bob Smith Open on Saturday, December 5th, at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan.
