Larsen, Stansbury take first place for CSM grapplers at Hastings College Open

HASTINGS, Neb. - The Colorado School of Mines wrestling team competed at the Hastings College Open on Saturday, January 9th, at the Osborne Family Sports Complex.

Jordan Larsen (165 lbs.; 4-0) and Bryan Stansbury (HWT; 4-0, one fall) both placed first in their weight classes while seventh-ranked Jesse Snider (149 lbs.; 6-1, one fall) and Austin Cordova (149 lbs.; 4-1, one fall) took third and fourth place, respectively.
Kyle McMinn (133 lbs.; 3-2, two falls) finished fifth while Mike Brown (157 lbs.; 4-3) and Ryan Swanson (174 lbs.; 4-3, one fall) both placed sixth.
CSM sent eight other attached wrestlers, including Dylan Lewis (141 lbs.; 2-2), Cooper Newby (141 lbs.; 1-1, one fall), Travis Wokasch (149 lbs.; 2-2, one fall), Mick Ramsey (149 lbs.; 0-2), Jamie Sheets (157 lbs.; 2-2), Jacob Guynes (165 lbs.; 1-2), Bradley Price (184 lbs.; 2-2, one fall) and Brennen Knerr (197 lbs.; 1-1).
Robert Tucker (HWT; 3-1) placed second while competing unattached, as well.
The Orediggers will host #10 Adams State College on Friday evening, January 15th, at 7:00 p.m. at Volk Gym in Golden, Colo.
Mines will also travel to Chadron State College on Saturday night, January 16th, for a 7:00 p.m. RMAC dual at Armstrong Gym in Chadron, Neb.

CSM will then have three duals on Saturday, January 23rd, at Antelope Gymnasium on the campus of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz. The Orediggers will compete against RMAC associate members San Francisco State University and Grand Canyon University at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., respectively, before squaring off against Embry Riddle (Ariz.) University in a non-conference dual at 1:00 p.m.
