Snider finishes as runner-up, Lousberg registers four falls at FHSU Bob Smith Open

HAYS, Kan. - The Colorado School of Mines wrestling team competed at the Fort Hays State University Bob Smith Open on Saturday, December 5th, at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

Jesse Snider went 5-1 with one fall and finished second in the 149-lb. bracket. Chad Lousberg went 4-2 with four falls and Kyle McMinn went 2-2 with two falls in the 133-lb. division.
CSM sent 12 other attached wrestlers, including Austin Cordova (141 lbs.; 2-2), Dylan Lewis (141 lbs.; 1-2), Cooper Newby (141 lbs.; 1-2), Zach Young (141 lbs.; 0-2), Mick Ramsey (149 lbs.; 0-2), Travis Wokasch (149 lbs.; 1-2), Mike Brown (157 lbs.; 1-2), Jordan Larsen (165 lbs.; 1-1), Jamie Sheets (165 lbs.; 1-2), Ryan Swanson (174 lbs.; 3-2), Brandon Sheldon (184 lbs.; 3-2) and Brennen Knerr (197 lbs.; 2-2).
Six Orediggers competed unattached, as well, including Cowan McLain (149 lbs.; 0-2), Chad Stich (157 lbs.; 0-2), Jake Wilson (165 lbs.; 0-2), Joshua Brown (174 lbs.; 0-2), Bobby Strain (197 lbs.; 0-2) and Robert Tucker (HWT; 1-2).
The Orediggers will begin the dual portion of their 2009-10 season by competing against the U.S. Air Force Academy (2:30 p.m.) and Ohio University (4:00 p.m.) on Friday, December 11th, at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo.

CSM will then host Western State College in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) dual on Thursday, January 7th, at 7:00 p.m. at Lockridge Arena in Golden.
