#15 FHSU gets past CSM grapplers, 35-12

HAYS, Kan. - #15 Fort Hays State University defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 35-12 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) wrestling dual on Saturday evening, February 6th, at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The 15th-ranked Tigers, who improved to 8-3-0 overall (6-0-0 RMAC) jumped out to a 29-0 lead through the first six matches of the dual. Travis Kuhn (133 lbs.), Aldon Isenberg (141 lbs.), Levi Younkin (149 lbs.), #4 Danny Grater (157 lbs.), #7 Blake Malloy (165 lbs.), Chance Rencountre (184 lbs.) and Steven Kyler (197 lbs.) all came away with wins for the Tigers. FHSU also got a forfeit victory for #4 Tommy Edgmon in the 125-lb. match.
Bryan Stansbury (HWT; now 15-11) pinned his FHSU opponent in 5:54 to pick up one of two victories for Mines (2-8-0 overall, 1-6-0 RMAC). The Orediggers' Ryan Swanson (now 17-14) received a forfeit victory in the 174-lb. bout.
Mines will host Mesa State College on Wednesday, February 17th, at 7:00 p.m. at Volk Gym in Golden, Colo.
CSM will then close out its regular-season schedule at Colorado State University - Pueblo on Thursday, February 18th (7:00 p.m. at Massari Arena in Pueblo, Colo.).
The NCAA Division II Super Regional Four / RMAC Championships will be held on Saturday, February 27th, at Adams State College (Plachy Hall) in Alamosa, Colo.
