#10 Adams State defeats CSM grapplers, 38-14

GOLDEN, Colo. - Tenth-ranked Adams State College defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 38-14 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) wrestling dual on Friday evening, January 15th, at Volk Gymnasium.

The Grizzlies (5-3-0 overall, 3-1-0 RMAC), who took a 28-0 lead through the first five bouts, got victories from A.J. Alexander, Daniel Kelly, fifth-ranked Joey Deaguero, Torben Walters and fifth-ranked Kyle Sand. Top-ranked Arsenia Barksdale and fourth-ranked Josh Hensley were awarded forfeit wins in the 125 lb. and 141 lb. bouts, respectively.
Jordan Larsen and Bryan Stansbury came away victorious for the Orediggers (0-4-0 overall, 0-2-0 RMAC). Mines' Ryan Swanson won via forfeit in the 174 lb. match.
Mines will travel to Chadron State College on Saturday night, January 16th, for a 7:00 p.m. RMAC dual at Armstrong Gym in Chadron, Neb.
CSM will then have three duals on Saturday, January 23rd, at Antelope Gymnasium on the campus of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz. The Orediggers will compete against RMAC associate members San Francisco State University and Grand Canyon University at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., respectively, before squaring off against Embry Riddle (Ariz.) University in a non-conference dual at 1:00 p.m.
