CSM women ranked eighth in NCAA Division II Central Region rankings

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of
Mines women’s basketball team is ranked eighth in the first
NCAA Division II Central Region rankings released this
afternoon.
CSM sits atop the RMAC East Division with a record of 6-3 in
conference play and 12-5 overall. Mines won back-to-back games
defeating Nebraska-Kearney at home 74-71 in RMAC action on
Saturday, Jan. 23rd. The Orediggers recorded an 83-34 victory in
non-conference action against Johnson & Wales earlier this week
on Monday, Jan. 25th.
Mines currently ranks first in the RMAC in blocked shots (95),
second in field goal percentage defense (.325), third in scoring
defense (55.9) and rebounding margin (+5.3), fourth in rebounding
defense (33.8) and fifth in rebounding offense (39.1). CSM also
ranks second in the RMAC in field goal percentage (.423), fourth in
assist-to-turnover ratio (0.7), fifth in scoring margin (+4.5) and
sixth in free throw percentage (.712) and assists (13.2). CSM ranks
third out of 300 teams in Division II in blocked shots per game and
fifth in field goal percentage defense.
The Orediggers play at Metro State on Friday, Jan. 29th at 5:00
pm. On Saturday, Jan. 30th CSM plays at Regis University at 7:00
pm.
