Mines women record 83-34 victory over Johnson & Wales

DENVER, Colo. – The Colorado School of
Mines women’s basketball team scored a season-high 83 points
en route to a win over Johnson & Wales University in
non-conference action on Monday evening at the Wildcat Center.
The Orediggers held the Wildcats without a field goal for the first
10:41 of the game. CSM scored 45 points in the first half and shot
71.4 % from the three-point line. Mines finished the game shooting
52.5 % from the floor and dishing out 22 assists.
Four players finished the game in double figures for Mines. Angie
Charchalis scored 20 points for the second straight game.
Charchalis was perfect from the field (8-of-8) and from the
three-point line (4-of-4), as well, in just 11 minutes of
action. Kelsey Crist (6-for-11 FG) finished with 14 points, six
rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kait Soehner contributed 13
points (5-of-6 FG), five assists and four rebounds. Allie Grazulis
finished with a career-high 10 points along with six rebounds and
three assists. Taylor McBain added eight points, five rebounds and
three assists. Rachel Herbert chipped in with seven points, five
rebounds and two assists.
Johnson & Wales (3-19 overall) got six points each from Sarah FitzPatrick and Nikki Solano. Holly Kesterson finished with four points and seven rebounds.
The Orediggers (12-5, 6-3 RMAC) play at Metro State on Friday, Jan. 29th at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, Jan. 30th CSM plays at Regis University at 7:00 pm.
