CSM men place third and women take fourth at Joe Davies Open

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines track & field team hosted the Joe Davies Open on Saturday at Steinhauer Fieldhouse. The CSM men placed third while the Oredigger women posted a fourth-place finish.

The men’s distance medley relay team of Mack McLain, Ryan
Hanley, Russell Drummond and Ben Zywicki finished third and
recorded a provisional qualifying time of 10:02.62. Nick Zehring
finished third in the shot put with a provisional qualifying
standard of 15.50 m. David Stuart won the high jump at 2.04 m. Mike
Kasberg, Brian Stillwell and Kelly Eurek finished second, third and
fourth in the 5000 m.
The women’s distance medley relay team of Briana Suppes,
Kristen Rinedollar, Hilary Hurst and Marie Patton won the event
with a time of 12:18.91. Kiera Benson’s time of 7.62 was a
provisional qualifying mark, the fourth time this season in the 60
m that she had recorded a qualifying time, as she finished second
overall. Benson also placed second in the 200 m (26.87). Rinedollar
won the 400 m with a time of 59.71 and Patton finished third in the
mile (5:18.83).
The Orediggers will compete at the New Mexico Classic in
Albuquerque, N.M. on Saturday, Feb. 6th.
