CSM men ranked 9th in Division II, women receiving votes; Dennis, Forsling and Moore earn RMAC honors


GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines men’s swimming & diving team is ranked 9th in the most recent CollegeSwimming.com / CSCAA Division II Team Poll while the Oredigger women are receiving votes.

In other news, Jesse Dennis, Angel Forsling and Sarah Moore all earned Rocky Mountain Athletic (RMAC) Conference Athlete of the Week honors as announced this afternoon. Dennis and Moore were selected as the Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week while Forsling was named the Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

This is the fourth time this season that Dennis, a sophomore from Kirkland, Ariz. (Yavapi C.C.), has been named RMAC Men’s Diver of the Week. At the Washington University Thanksgiving Invite last weekend (Nov. 21st and 22nd), Dennis placed sixth in the 3-meter event (332.35) and seventh in the 1-meter event (364.95).

Forsling, a junior from Grand Junction, Colo. (Grand Junction H.S.), broke three school records at the Washington University Thanksgiving Invite. Forsling won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.25) and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships. Forsling also won the 200 IM (2:10.52) and 200 breaststroke (2:24.30) with a “B” qualifying standard time.

A freshman from Littleton, Colo. (Chatfield H.S.), Moore has now been named RMAC Women’s Diver of the Week five times this season. At the Washington University Thanksgiving Invite, Moore finished second in the 3-meter event (421.55) and third in the 1-meter event (380.40).

The Orediggers will resume competition on Friday-Sunday, Jan. 22nd-24th at the Colorado College Classic in Colorado Springs, Colo.
