CSM wins seven events in dual meet against Adams State, Mesa State, CU Club and Metro State Club team

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of
Mines swimming & diving teams opened the 2009-10 season with a
dual meet against Adams State, Mesa State, CU Club and Metro State
Club on Friday evening, Oct. 9th at the CSM Natatorium.
The CSM men defeated Mesa State (185-34) and Metro State (179-43)
while CU defeated CSM, 132 to 105. The Oredigger women defeated
Adams State (134-59) and Metro State (123-104) while the CU
(151-89) and Mesa State (139-90) defeated Mines.
Jacob Dole won the 50 freestyle in a time of 21.94. Kevin Shaw won
the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.29. Andrew Zerwick won the 100
backstroke (56.35) and placed second in the 200 freestyle. Elliot
Feng won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:01.13 as the top four
finishers in the event were from CSM.
On the women’s side, diver Sarah Moore won both the 1-meter
(242.55) and 3-meter (245.30) events. Angel Forsling won the 100
breaststroke (1:09.54) and posted a runner-up finish in the 100
butterfly.
The Orediggers will host the Rocky Mountain Invitational on Friday
and Saturday, Oct. 16th and 17th. Competition will begin at 6:00 pm
on Friday and at noon on Saturday in the CSM Natatorium.
