ThunderWolves take two from CSM softball, 5-0 & 4-0

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado School of
Mines softball team dropped a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference (RMAC) games to CSU-Pueblo on Sunday afternoon at
Rawlings Complex. The ThunderWolves won game one by a score of 5-0
and game two, 4-0.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning
when CSU-Pueblo took a 1-0 lead on an Ashley Corrigan single
through the right side. The ThunderWolves added four more runs in
the sixth to post the victory.
Justine Bosio earned her second win of the weekend pitching a
complete game shutout with no walks and six strikeouts. Bosio was
also 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI.
Libby Balogh suffered the loss in 5 1/3 innings of work she allowed
four runs on eight hits while striking out a season-high nine
batters. Sarah Van Lingen was 2-for-3 in game one.
CSM collected two hits in game two as CSU-Pueblo pitcher Kyla
Nelson tossed a complete game shutout with four strikeouts. Kelly
Purcell was 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
Dani Nagler and Rachel Meine collected Mines’ two hits in the
game. Kelly Unkrich took the loss for CSM (CG, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0
BB, 2 K). Kaleigh Starr stole two bases.
The Orediggers (5-8 overall, 1-3 RMAC) will travel to Las Vegas,
N.M. to play a four-game series on Friday and Saturday, March 12th
and 13th against New Mexico Highlands. CSM will play a doubleheader
on Friday, March 12th beginning at 1:00 pm.
