Akindele, Nass and Wilson garner First Team All-RMAC honors

COLORADOS SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines men's soccer players Tesho Akindele, Alex Nass and Philip Wilson were all named First Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference as announced today by the RMAC. Sean Helster earned Second Team honors.

Akindele, a sophomore forward from Thornton, Colo. (Northglenn H.S.), was a unanimous First Team selection for the second straight season. A 2010 First Team All-American, Akindele ranks fifth in Division II in total points (41) and total goals (16), sixth in points per game (2.47), seventh in goals per game (0.94) and ninth in total assists. Akindele has 11 assists on the year which puts him tied for first in the RMAC.

Nass, a junior midfielder from Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil (Poudre H.S.), has started all 18 games this season scoring seven goals and tallying eight assists. A 2010 RMAC Second Team All-RMAC selection in 2010, Nass currently ranks third in the RMAC in assists, fourth in the in points (22) and tied for fifth in goals.

Wilson, a senior midfielder from Mansfield, Texas (Mansfield H.S.), earns First Team All-RMAC honors for the first time in his career. This season, Wilson has six goals and five assists and ranks eighth in the RMAC in points (17).

Helster, a junior defender from The Woodlands, Texas (The Woodlands H.S.), earned All-RMAC honors for the first time in his career. Helster has appeared in 12 games this season scoring one goal and tallying two assists.

The Orediggers (11-6-1) will play the #1 seed and third-ranked Fort Lewis College on Friday, Nov. 4th in Durango in the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament at 3:00 pm.
