Wages' Jam At Metro State Breaks Backboard; Suspends Game Till Sunday

DENVER – The Colorado School of Mines versus Metro State men's basketball game will be suspended until Sunday at 5 p.m. due to a shattered backboard on a dunk by Mines' junior center Trevor Wages in the first half of the contest.

The game began at 7 p.m. on Friday, and will resume on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center with Metro State leading Mines, 21-16, with 6:44 to play in the first half. 

The make-up game was originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on Sunday but it has been moved up to 5 p.m. and admission to the contest will be free.

Wages' dunk was the No. 5 play on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays for Friday's broadcast.
