Free Posters For Students During Men's Basketball Season Opener

GOLDEN – The two-time defending RMAC Champion, and NABC No. 13 Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team will open up its 2012-13 campaign on Saturday with a matchup against Minot State at Lockridge Arena in Golden.

Tip-off is scheduled for a 7 p.m.

The first 250 students in the stands will receive a free 2012 Mines Men's Basketball poster, courtesy of the men's basketball program. Click HERE to view a smaller version of the poster. 

The 13th-ranked Orediggers concluded last season with a 29-3 record, including the squad's second-straight RMAC regular season title, the program's first RMAC Tournament championship and its third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. Mines advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the tournament for the first time in program history.

The Orediggers finished last season ranked No. 9 in the NABC/Division II Coaches Poll after the season was completed, and also finished second nationally in win-loss percentage (90.6), fourth nationally in scoring margin (+15.1), 11th nationally in rebounding margin (+7.0), 16th nationally in scoring defense (61.7), 17th nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (39.4) and 30th nationally in free throw percentage (74.6). 

The squad was picked to finish second in the RMAC by the league's coaches during the preseason, and junior Trevor Wages was named Preseason All-RMAC after earning Second Team All-RMAC honors last season. 

Minot State finished last season with a 4-25 overall record and was picked to finish 15th of 16 teams in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as well as tied for seventh in the NSIC North Division. MISU became a full-fledged member of the conference on July 1, 2012.
