Oredigger men extend winning streak to six with 91-71 win over UCCS

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines defeated the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs by the score of 91-71 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) men's basketball action on Saturday night, February 6th, at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, CLICK HERE.
Brett Green (6-of-11 FG, 10-of-12 FT), Dale Minschwaner (8-of-16 FG, 6-of-7 FT) and Drew Hoffman (7-of-10 FG) scored 25, 22 and 20 points, respectively, as the Orediggers (12-9 overall, 9-4 RMAC) won their sixth consecutive game. Hoffman, whose 20 points tied a season high, connected on all six of his three-point FG attempts while Minschwaner handed out a career-best five assists.
Gordon Galloway (career-high three blocked shots) and Levi Hamilton hauled in eight rebounds apiece and reigning RMAC / Baden East Division Player of the Week Sean Armstrong contributed 12 points, six assists and five boards. Mines, which led 42-27 at halftime, out-rebounded UCCS 43 to 30.
Cole Smith led UCCS (7-14 overall, 5-8 RMAC) in points (15) and rebounds (six).
Mines will host Regis University and Metro State on Friday and Saturday, February 12th and 13th, respectively. The Orediggers will then conclude the regular-season portion of their 2009-10 home schedule by hosting Colorado Christian University on Tuesday night, February 16th.
