Orediggers Fourth After First Two Rounds Of Ryan Palmer Invite

AMARILLO, Texas – No. 13 Colorado School of Mines trimmed eight strokes off its opening round to end the first day of action at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational in fourth of 17 squads at the Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas, on Monday.

The Orediggers trail tournament-leading CSU-Pueblo by three strokes heading into Tuesday's finale.

Sophomore Jordan Arndt posted the squad's low round of the first two rounds with a 69 on the second to finish in a tie for fifth overall with a 140 (-2) .

Reigning Mines Student-Athlete of the Week Michael Lee follows Arndt by a stroke in a tie for seventh after rounds of 71 and 71.

Kyle Grassel opened with rounds of 72 and 71 on the par-71, 6,492-yard course and ended the first day in a tie for 15th overall.

John Ahern and Joe Schwark follow in ties for 39th and 47th, respectively, after two-round totals of 148 and 149.

The tournament will conclude with Tuesday's final round.
