Orediggers place fifth at Peaks Classic; Feng and Knous tie for sixth, 12th


LA VETA, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines golf team finished in fifth place at the 5th Annual Peaks Classic (hosted by Wayland Baptist University), which was held on Monday and Tuesday, September 14th and 15th, at Grandote Peaks Golf Club (par 72).

As a team, the Orediggers finished with a two-day, three-round team stroke total of 888 (+24), which was 17 strokes behind first-place UC-Colorado Springs.

Elliot Feng tied for sixth place at even par (72, 70, 74) while Jim Knous tied for 12th place at +2 (74, 67, 77).  Adam Saban (77, 78, 73; +12) tied for 38th place, Cory Bacon (81, 69, 83; +17) finished in a tie for 51st and Chad Herges (81, 79, 76; +20) tied for 57th.

CSM will compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Fall Championship on Monday and Tuesday, September 21st and 22nd, at Cougar Canyon Golf Links in Trinidad, Colo.
