The top two players from the NCAA Division II West / Central Super Regional (regardless of region) who were not affiliated with one of the top five teams earned the right to compete as individuals at the NCAA Division II Championships.
Colorado Christian University's Jon Klingensmith and Western Washington University's Patrick Boag, who tied for seventh place at +3 (219), claimed those spots. Knous was one of five golfers who were unaffiliated with a top-five team to finish at +4 (220), just one stroke behind both Klingensmith and Boag.
The 2009-10 season marked the Orediggers' first-ever team appearance at the NCAA Division II West / Central Regional.
