Meisch Earns Mines Student-Athlete Of The Week Nod

GOLDEN – Following a career-high performance in Mines’ 71-69 victory over Colorado Christian on Saturday in Lakewood, junior Luke Meisch of the Colorado School of Mines men’s basketball team has been named the Mines Student-Athlete of the Week, athletic department officials announced Tuesday.

Meisch led the Orediggers with a career-high 28 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor in the win over the Cougars. The Wichita, Kan., product finished 2-of-2 from the perimeter as well, but did his best work at the foul line where he knocked in 14-of-15 opportunities. 

He added eight rebounds, two assists and a block in 37 minutes of action in the win. 

Meisch is averaging 20.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game over his last four contests. He is currently 10th in the conference (as of Sunday) with an average of 15.6 points per game while sitting fifth in the league with an average of 8.2 boards per contest.
