Grazulis Named This Week's Mines Student-Athlete Of The Week
GOLDEN – In leading the Colorado School
of Mines women’s basketball team to a 2-0 record last weekend
with a pair of one-point victories over Regis and Metro State,
junior forward Allie
Grazulis has been named this week’s Mines
Student-Athlete of the Week, athletic department officials
announced Monday.
A Palmer, Alaska, native, Grazulis was a catalyst on both ends of
the floor in Mines’ weekend home sweep over the pair of local
rivals by averaging a double-double of 16.0 points and 11.0
rebounds per game.
She recorded 16 points and eight rebounds in the Orediggers’
71-70 overtime victory over the Rangers on Friday at Lockridge
Arena before adding a 16-point, 14-rebound double-double in
Saturday’s 57-56 win over the Roadrunners.
The RMAC’s second-leading rebounder (9.5 per game) collected
her team-leading fourth double-double on Saturday, which is tied
for the second most in the RMAC.
The Geophysics major finished the week 8-of-20 (40.0 percent) from
the field and a sizzling 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) at the free throw
line, including a 10-of-12 effort in Saturday’s win over
Metro State.
